Unwanted Blood Vessles
Are you looking for an effective treatment for unwanted blood vessels?
The most common types of vessels that can effectively be treated include:
- Facial spider veins or telangectesias or broken Capillaries on the nose, face or trunk. These lesions are commonly associated with Acne Rosacea, medication, heredity, pregnancy, age, or sun related damage.
- Cherry Hemangiomas or red dots on the arms legs or trunk
- Varicose Veins including spider veins on the lower legs and thighs
A Laser operates by using a pure beam of light energy to heat the blood inside the vessel and damage its inner lining. After about a month, the unwanted vessel is reabsorbed by the body leaving a blemish free surface. Typically 70- 90% of lesions can be removed in just 1-3 treatments.

Older Lasers operating on shorter wavelengths have also been effective in removal of unwanted vessels but are often associated with unacceptable amounts of redness, bruising and pain. The new fourth generation lasers effectively treat unwanted blood vessels with far less redness, bruising or pain. In addition, because the laser light is only absorbed by the blood vessel, the new lasers can safely be used in tanned skinned patients.
How does the laser differ from Sclerotherapy?
Sclerotherapy involves the injection of one of various dilute solutions directly into unwanted vessels in the lower extremities. Destruction of unwanted vessels by injection sclerotherapy is an excellent treatment for large, raised blood vessels and prominent spider veins .
Laser is generally recommended for treatment of areas of very fine matted spider veins and veins on the ankles and feet.
Laser is the treatment of choice for facial veins.
